License Activation
How to activate your Reconcile license key and manage your machine activation.
Overview
Reconcile requires a license key activated on your machine. Activation needs an internet connection and is tied to the machine you activate on.
Demo mode
Reconcile runs in demo mode until a license key is activated. Demo mode has two limits:
- 10 reconcile operations (each click of Reconcile consumes one use)
- 30 days from first use
The demo expires when either limit runs out. The License tab in Settings shows both counters.
Activating your license
On first launch, an activation sheet appears automatically. You can also open it at any time via Settings → License → Activate License.

Enter your license key in the field provided. Keys follow the format:
ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP-QRST-UVWX-YZ12-3456 -
Click Activate. Reconcile contacts the licensing server to validate the key and register the current machine.

On success, the sheet closes and the application is fully unlocked.
Your license key is included in the purchase confirmation email sent to the address used at checkout.
Activation errors
| Error type | Cause | Resolution |

| Network error | No internet connection during activation | Connect to the internet and retry |
| Invalid key | Key entered incorrectly or does not exist | Check for typos; copy-paste directly from the confirmation email |
| Activation error | Key has reached its machine activation limit | Deactivate from a previous machine or contact support |
If activation fails, use the Copy Error Details button in the error panel to copy a diagnostic report to your clipboard, then send it to support@hidden-mountain.com.
Deactivating
To deactivate Reconcile on the current machine (for example, before migrating to a new computer):
- Open Settings → License.
- Click Deactivate License.
The machine slot is released and the key can be activated on another machine.
License recovery
If you have lost your license key, visit the recovery portal at hidden-mountain.com/tools/recover or click License Recovery in the activation error panel.
