Settings Reference
Complete reference for all configurable settings in Reconcile, organised by settings tab.
Open Settings via Reconcile → Settings (⌘,).
General
Pair by filename
Default: on
When enabled, audio files dropped alongside video files are automatically matched to the video whose base filename is contained within the audio filename. Disable this to require all pairings to be made manually.
Show above other windows
Default: off
Keeps the Reconcile window floating above all other application windows. Useful when using Reconcile alongside a DAW or NLE.
Resize window to fit pairs
Default: off
Automatically adjusts the window height to accommodate the current number of pairs. When disabled, the window is a fixed height and the pair list is scrollable.
Post-process
File organisation
Move audio files to subfolder
Default: on
After a successful Reconcile, the source audio files are moved into a subfolder within their current directory. The subfolder name is configurable (default: AUDIO).
Move video file to subfolder
Default: off
After a successful Reconcile, the source video file is moved into a subfolder within its current directory. The subfolder name is configurable (default: VIDEO).
Audio processing
Apply fades
Default: off
Applies a linear fade-in at the head and a linear fade-out at the tail of the audio before muxing. Duration is specified in frames (0.5–8.0, in 0.5-frame increments). The fade length is calculated at the source file's native sample rate and is independent of the video frame rate.
Normalize audio loudness
Default: off
Measures the integrated loudness of the source audio using ITU-R BS.1770 and applies a static gain offset to bring the programme loudness to the selected target. This is a compliance gain operation: no dynamic processing is applied.
Target level presets:
| Preset | Target |
|---|---|
| −14 LUFS | Streaming (music platforms) |
| −16 LUFS | Streaming (podcast/spoken word) |
| −18 LUFS | General broadcast |
| −20 LUFS | General broadcast (conservative) |
| −23 LUFS (EBU R128) | European broadcast standard |
| −24 LUFS (ATSC A/85) | North American broadcast standard |
| Custom | User-defined value |
Original audio files
Determines what happens to the source audio file when normalization or fades are applied.
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Back up original | The source file is renamed with a configurable suffix (default: _original) before being replaced with the processed version |
| Overwrite | The source file is permanently replaced. This cannot be undone. |
Warnings
Enable Warnings
Default: on
Master toggle for all QC warnings. When disabled, no analysis results are displayed and no warning tags appear on pairs.
Loudness
LUFS Range
Default: on | Min: −24.0 LUFS, Max: −22.0 LUFS
Raises a warning when the measured integrated loudness of an audio file falls outside the specified window. Default thresholds correspond to the ±1 LUFS tolerance band around EBU R128 (−23 LUFS).
True Peak (dBTP)
Default: on | Maximum: −1.0 dBTP
Raises a warning when the measured inter-sample true peak exceeds the specified ceiling. EBU R128 specifies a maximum of −1.0 dBTP for most delivery formats.
Format
Sample Rate
Default: on | Expected: 48 kHz
Raises a warning when the audio file's sample rate does not match the expected project rate. Available options: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 96 kHz, 192 kHz.
Timing
Duration Mismatch
Default: on | Tolerance: 0.1 s
Raises a warning when the audio duration and video duration differ by more than the specified tolerance. A mismatch may indicate a conform error, a missing handle, or incorrect session length at export.
Head/Tail Click Detection
Default: on
Analyses the first and last frames of audio for transient discontinuities that may indicate an abrupt cut, a missing fade, or a sample-level edit artefact. Detected clicks are flagged individually as head click or tail click warnings.

Displays the current activation status, the masked license key, and the associated email address. Provides controls to activate or deactivate the license on the current machine.
